Football History (Research is ongoing)

Middle Township was 0-3-1 in 1919 (the team didn't score in the four games)

Middle was 0-2 in 1918 (both games were with Wildwood, lost one 64-0)

Middle was 0-1 in 1917 (lost to Wildwood)

The rivalry with Lower Cape May started in 1922 and the Anchor Bowl started in 1996. Middle leads the series 60-37-5 and 2018 was the 102nd Meeting between the two schools.

Generally, games played before 1918 were not legitimate because that was the year the NJSIAA was formed.  Before that there were no rules governing high school sports and we have no way of knowing who played in the games.
